Crescendo International Choir Donates Money to Charity, Plans Several December Concerts
Crescendo International Choir recently donated 250 euros it raised at its successful 20th anniversary concert in October to MABS Cancer Support Foundation. This organization helps all those affected by cancer whatever their nationality. The San Javier Area coordinator for MABS was on hand at a recent Crescendo Choir rehearsal to accept the donation.
Crescendo Choir has been very busy lately with a televised concert on Sunday, November 24, in El Campello at its Casa de Cultura and rehearsals for upcoming December concerts. The choir performed two songs at this film festival: City of Stars to open the Sunday gala event and Unchained Melody to end the event, both songs made famous in films. The audience loved the addition of the choir to the event according to both attendees and festival organizers. They really liked the combination of live music with festival film clips. The winner of the film festival was the movie Paris 70, about a son caring for his mother, who has Alzheimer’s disease.
The choir plans several Christmas concerts in December. The first will be held on Monday, December 2 at 6 pm at Casa de Cultura in Benijofar. The event will be free but a charity collection will be carried out after the event is over for the local food bank. A local restaurant called Rincon de Mateo will be there to sell coffee and baked goods.
On Monday, December 9, at 6 pm, Crescendo will be giving a free concert at La Siesta Evangelical Church in Torrevieja, where the choir has given many concerts in the past. Funds donated at this event will go to the church’s chosen charities. A Christmas concert is also planned for Sunday, December 15, in Los Montesinos, with location and time to be decided. Finally, the choir will head up to Almoradi to spread some holiday cheer to residents at the Casa Verde retirement home located there on Monday, December 16.
