Focus On Costa Blanca North Ed's Comments
February is the month of love and in the world we are living in at the moment I think it could do with a little more love. A kind word or an unexpected kind gesture go such a long way to making someone's day.
I have to go back to the UK this month for a couple of days and realised that my wardrobe is just not adequate for their February weather. I vowed never to go back in the winter about 30 years ago after suffering with chilblains so badly that I cried most of the week. Since then I have managed to make all trips in the warmer weather, but this time it is unavoidable. After a begrudging shopping trip (as I will never use them again) I now have a selection of thermals for the trip which hopefully will keep me warm enough. I am also taking my waterproof walking boots to keep the chilblains away. It's not going to be my best look but needs must!
There is a lot going on this month including Carnival celebrations. If you haven't been to one of the parades then try to find one near you - you can't but help to enjoy the costumes and music.
Until next time, take care and be kind. Lesley

February is renowned to be the month of love with many venues up and down the coast serving special menus for the celebration. Book your reservations at your desired venue early so you don't end up being disappointed and in the doghouse. We also see Carnival celebrated in many towns in Spain where they go all out with the festivities with parades for all the family to enjoy. Check with your local town hall for events to be held near you.
A year ago our family said a goodbye to my nephew who started his new life in New York and this January we have done the same for his older sister who has decided to join him in the 'Big Apple' with her partner to follow in due course. I wonder how long it will be before the rest of their immediate family follow suit.... or maybe not???
