macmillan femalefocusonline nov24 1Wow, wow, wow....Yet another massively successful coffee morning for Macmillan was held at Jolly's Bar in October and a huge thanks goes out to everyone that attended and took part, whether on the day or during one of the many fundraising events that was held during 2024.

The huge selection of mouth watering cakes this year surpassed all expectations and the generosity from everyone that donated towards the event through cakes or raffle prizes is always appreciated.
macmillan femalefocusonline nov24 2An astounding 2,455€ was raised on the day itself through cake sales, a raffle, tombola, kids games and music bingo to name just a few, including a large donation from Claptons Golf Society. This amount added to the funds already raised throughout the year with various events including contributions from Jolly's Golf Society, has taken the total raised in 2024 to 5936€!!!
Sarah Devonport who has been the instigator in this fundraising for the last 8 years has decided to retire from the Macmillan fund raising (at least for the time being as she has a wedding to plan next year) and what a way to go....As a community the total amount raised over the 8 years is a whopping 38,196.72€!!! So a huge congratulations to everyone involved in achieving something most people could only dream about doing, this amount of money will certainly have had a massive impact on so many peoples lives.
Following on from Macmillan, Jolly's Golf Society are keen to keep the charity fundraising going with their “Driving for charities” campaign (sponsored by Jolly's Bar and Rightmove Insurance). Through their team members contributions, they are in the process of raising funds for underprivileged local children, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic by supplying some gifts.
It reassuringly pleasing to know there are so many kind, generous and caring people out there.
