Well we all survived the partying although I cannot believe I have a granddaughter who is in double figures - how did that happen? - where does the time go?
One of her presents was a ukulele as she is going to start learning it at school. As she wanted a blue one she asked for it for a birthday present, which I thought was very thoughtful of her rather than just expecting to get one anyway. I hope it will be more pleasing to listen to than the recorder which she is learning at the moment.
The 'Moors and Christians' was amazing, in fact it was one of the best I have seen in my 36 years here. Of course I am biased and clapped extra hard for the grandchildren (and daughter and son-in-law) who were living their best lives and looked fantastic parading through the town. Next year is an important one in their fila as they have the Alférez so it will mean a float and dancers and better costumes - I can't wait. They keep asking me to take part instead of just doing background stuff - I may be tempted.....
The house swap worked really well and by the looks of the videos our dog enjoyed her holidays away from the fireworks and with other dogs to play with, although it's a bit like have a clingy toddler since getting her back.
There are so many fairs and concerts and other events during the lead up to Christmas that you will need to have your diary on hand to make a note so as not to miss anything.
The 28th issue of the Professional Services Marina Alta edition is out on the streets so don't forget to pick up your copy and keep it to hand as you never know when you will need one of the professional services offered.
Until next time, take care and be kind. Lesley

Now that Halloween has been and gone, the focus is now turning to Christmas and New Year.
There are lots of restaurants serving festive menus in the lead up to Christmas, with many venues already booking up fast, so if this is something you want to do with friends / family / work colleagues you need to act pretty quickly.
With Black Friday at the end of the month I am going to try to bag myself some bargains and get ahead with some Christmas shopping. Although the kids are no longer kids but young adults, it should be a bit kinder on the purse – or at least that is my intention.....sorry kids!!!
It has come to the time of year to do the 6 monthly wardrobe changeover. This year I vow to be quite strict with myself and actually have a good clear out at the same time, and donate several bags to worthy charities. Although I haven't quite got to the stage of needing the duvet, I don't think it's going to be too long.
As always in November wear your poppy with pride as Remembrance Day is coming very soon ...lest we forget.
Until next time... Michelle.
